About Erin Hurme

A native of Copiague, New York, Erin moved to San Diego, California  where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Chinese Herbology from the renowned Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Having studied with some of the most respected faculty in the country, she also received clinical training at the prestigious Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. From San Diego, she relocated when her husband, a Naval officer, was stationed in Nashville, Tennessee. Erin opened and operated a very successful practice in Nashville, where she treated professional athletes such as the NFL Tennessee Titans and NHL Nashville Predators.

Since her return to Long Island, Erin has been sharing her skills and knowledge of wholistic medicine with the local community. She continues to work with professional athletes such as the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans. At the NY College of Health Professions Erin teaches and supervises acupuncture and massage students.

As a practicing Chinese Herbologist, Erin maintains a full granular pharmacy of Chinese herbs on site at Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness. Chinese herbs can be used in conjunction with acupuncture treatments or can be prescribed as a standalone protocol.

Erin has both personal and professional experience in pregnancy, labor and delivery from a Chinese medicine perspective. During her pregnancy she received acupuncture to regulate hormones, balance emotions and maintain her energy level. Her labor was induced and recovery period eased by acupuncture treatments.

At Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness, the aim is to treat the root imbalance, or causative factor, not simply the symptom. Erin is committed to treating her patients with the utmost care and concern.
