Erin Hurme MSTOM, LAc, LMT

Master of Science Traditional Oriental Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist, Licensed Massage Therapist

A native of Copiague, New York, Erin moved to San Diego, California  where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Chinese Herbology from the renowned Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Having studied with some of the most respected faculty in the country, she also received clinical training at the prestigious Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. From San Diego, she relocated when her husband, a Naval officer, was stationed in Nashville, Tennessee. Erin opened and operated a very successful practice in Nashville, where she treated professional athletes such as the NFL Tennessee Titans and NHL Nashville Predators.

Since her return to Long Island, Erin has been sharing her skills and knowledge of wholistic medicine with the local community. She continues to work with professional athletes such as the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans. At the NY College of Health Professions Erin teaches and supervises acupuncture and massage students.

As a practicing Chinese Herbologist, Erin maintains a full granular pharmacy of Chinese herbs on site at Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness. Chinese herbs can be used in conjunction with acupuncture treatments or can be prescribed as a standalone protocol.

Erin has both personal and professional experience in pregnancy, labor and delivery from a Chinese medicine perspective. During her pregnancy she received acupuncture to regulate hormones, balance emotions and maintain her energy level. Her labor was induced and recovery period eased by acupuncture treatments.

At Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness, the aim is to treat the root imbalance, or causative factor, not simply the symptom. Erin is committed to treating her patients with the utmost care and concern.

Dean Monitto MSOM, LAc

Master of Science  of Oriental Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist

Dean K. Monitto, MSOM, L.Ac., is an NCCAOM certified and  New York and Florida  state  Licensed Acupuncturist.  Dean received his Master of Science of Oriental Medicine at Florida College of Integrative Medicine, in Orlando, Florida.  He was the founder of Body Basic Acupuncture in Ocoee, Florida for ten years.  Dean was the alternative medical provider for Universal Studios, Orlando, and worked with members of the US Olympic Track and Field Team.   He became a faculty member at Florida College of Integrative Medicine, and taught for over 6 years, and became clinic Director as well.  His practice focuses on infertility, weightloss, and stress management, as well as pain management.  He currently lives in Commack with his wife Stacey, daughter Malina, and dog Iggy.

Anthony Di Carol  LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master

Anthony DiCarlo is a Licensed Massage Therapist.  He graduated from the New York College for Wholistic Health Education and Research, in April of 2002. He is licensed by the State of New York since 2003,  has national accredidation through the National Certification Board for Theraputic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB),  and has held a license in the state of Florida. Anthony is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) since 2001. Anthony also has worked for Chiropractors, at gyms, private wellness centers and luxurious spaʼs. One of the most important places of
employment was Naturopathica Holistic Health Spa in East Hampton, N.Y.. He spent 5 1/2 years at Naturopathica as a massage therapist, lead therapist coordinator, and a bodywork trainer. Presently Anthony is an instructor at New York College of Health Professions. He has been teaching Introduction to Physical Arts, Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong, and supervisor in the student massage clinic. Anthony has been teaching at the school since 2005. Reiki has been a love in Anthonyʼs life for the past 22 years. He has also been given the title of Reiki Master. Anthony teaches Reiki privately, and students recieve certification of level 1,2, and mastership.

Colleen Johnson  LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist

Colleen Johnson is excited to a part of Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness as a Licensed Massage Therapist.  A graduate of NY College of Health Professions, she holds a degree in Massage Therapy.

Treating a wide range of issues, Colleen has studied and practiced many forms of massage and energy work.  She focuses on deep tissue massage, myofacial release and massage to benefit the health and well being of all her clients.  Colleen can help reduce stress and pain with her relaxation and rejuvenation techniques.  Complimenting Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness’s infertility practice, Colleen’s expertise in pregnancy massage means we will care for you from conception to delivery and recovery.

Born and raised in Amityville, Colleen would not want to practice anywhere else. A dedicated and caring practitioner, she feels natural healing and massage are a healthy way of life.  Daily Colleen  brings this philosophy into practice at Amityville Acupuncture & Wellness.

Kelly Ness  LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist

Kelly is a New York State licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from New York College of Health Professions. She specialize in Swedish and deep tissue massage and enjoys integrating various techniques into treatments, such as hot stone therapy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and cupping in order to help clients work towards a state of well being.
